As an experienced strategic and commercial thinker in the development of digital TV in the UK, Richard is currently leading on relationships with manufacturers and third parties interested in the development of a new Freeview-branded connected TV service, being developed by Freeview and Digital UK, and backed by their shareholders, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Arqiva.  The new service will be available free for everyone, taking the UK connected just as Freeview took the UK digital over the last decade.

 Richard previously led market development in Arqiva’s Digital Platforms division where he helped create strategies to bridge linear and IP delivered content through initiatives such as SeeSaw, Connect TV and YouView. Prior to that, Richard was responsible for digital switchover and the launch of HD during an 8-year tenure at Channel 4.
