George Robertson is the Principal IP Engineer of the Digital TV Group (DTG), with 17 years experience working in digital video and audio research both within the industry and as an academic. He has taught at the SAE Institute in Singapore and worked as a Research Fellow for his alma mata the University of St. Andrews.
He worked for the BBC R&D team, MGt and Panasonic before joining the DTG in 2007. During his time with the BBC and Panasonic Geroge published international patents and since joining the DTG has been instrumental in the development of the D-Book 7, which contains the foundation for many IPTV platforms available to UK viewers. He has been involved in the launch of Freeview New Zealand, Freesat, Freeview HD as well as digital switchover in the UK
