Elsa Memmi was appointed NBA Vice President Global Media Distribution, EMEA in 2013 and currently oversees the NBA’s media content distribution business across EMEA, licensing all media assets to TV and digital. She joined the NBA in January 2008, and was tasked with creating the International Media team following the NBA’s European headquarters’ move from Paris to London that year. The team of nine she assembled, boasting seven languages combined, looks after 63 broadcast and digital partners spanning over 120 countries who feature content in over 40 languages.
Elsa plays a crucial role in maximizing the ways content is made available, maintaining a strategic focus on the development of digital offerings to partners, as well as direct-to-consumer, providing fans with myriad ways to experience the NBA. She joined the NBA from ESPN Classic Sport Europe (Disney Group) in London, where she was responsible for the negotiation and sale of the 4-ESPN Classic Sport feeds in Eastern Europe & later assumed sole responsibility of Scandinavia & Western Europe. Prior to that, Elsa was a French attorney at Law at the Paris Bar and earned a Master’s degree in International Business Law from Pantheon-Sorbonne University. She then went on to earn her MBA at Cass Business School (City University) in London in International Business & Strategy.
