Doug Boynton has more than 40 years of experience in media management – as a broadcast and programming executive and as a working journalist. He was named Director of Marketing for the International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) in May of 2007, after serving in two previous IBB positions – Marketing Operations Director (2002), and Global Marketing Manager (2005).

IBB’s Office of Marketing supervises more than 2500 affiliate relationships with broadcast, digital and mobile outlets worldwide – on behalf of Voice of America (VOA), Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), Radio Free Asia (RFA), the Middle East Broadcasting Network (Alhurra Television and Radio SAWA) and the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (Radio/TV Marti).

Before joining IBB, Mr. Boynton was a Regional Vice President for Metro Networks, a division of Westwood One, the largest supplier of local content to the US broadcasting industry. There, he led affiliate acquisition efforts and supervised news, traffic, and other radio, television and Internet programming operations across the Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic United States.

Mr. Boynton also worked as News and Operations Manager at radio stations operated by Sinclair Broadcasting in Norfolk, Virginia; and as News Director and as an on-air anchor and journalist at other Sinclair stations in Virginia and Michigan.

A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Mr. Boynton attended Eastern Michigan University (Communications) and Old Dominion University (Marketing/Management). He and his family reside in Fairfax, Virginia.
